storybook baby shower
A few weeks back I celebrated my soon-to-be baby cousin at a beautiful Peter Rabbit themed shower.
My cousin Karl and I collaborated on making a storybook themed shower that felt whimsical, woodsy, and wonderful for Mama Nicole. I was so excited to surprise my glowing cousin with a special day at the Tipsy Toboggan in Fall River!
The menu started with passed appetizers of shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, scallops wrapped in bacon, and fruit skewers.
Lunch was a buffet of sweet thai chili salmon, stuffed pork loin, garden salad, pasta primavera, and there was even a beef tenderloin carving area.
For dessert, guests had the option of chocolate or vanilla cake (with baby pics of the mom + dad to be!), funfetti cookies, or carrot-cake cupcakes. There was something for everyone...and then some!
Guests were greeted with passed mimosas + bloody marys featuring Peter Cottontail drink stirrers and they had the option to get anything else from the bar. I mean, it is called the Tipsy Toboggan.
The decor was what I'm officially calling "vintage storybook" - haha. We incorporated hydrangeas, greenery, rustic elements, and pastel colors to create a classic Peter Rabbit story vibe. Each table was set with a mason jar bouquet, the fireplace was adorned with babies breathe and garland, and there was even a flower crown for Mommy to wear! We set up a little vignette for gift time featuring an inherited green chair that perfectly fit the space. For favors, my cousin made carrot shaped bags of orange chocolate covered almonds for guests to grab. So adorable!
Baby boy is due in 20 days, but we're all anxious to meet him anytime now!
