look for less: contemporary dining
This dining room by Jessica Helgerson is the perfect example of modern simplicity. I love how it uses dark wood and polished nickel without looking dated. It is a huge step out of my comfort zone to source without brass, but I love how contemporary this dining room is! I shared some sources below to recreate this look in your own space.

What I love most about this room is that it has lots of hidden storage with the cube sideboard. I am trying my hardest to declutter but I'm quickly realizing how necessary having a spot for everything is. This solves lots of problems! Also, that light fixture is SO DREAMY! Did I mention the whole room comes in at under $2500 with 4 dining chairs + 2 baskets for the sideboard, and 2 curtain panels? Steal!
- parsons table - $1013
- bernhard chairs - $159
- 6 cube sideboard - $60
- knipsa baskets - $15
- wall mirror - $150
- large saucer pendant - $386
- curtain panel - $30
- candle holders - $45
I think polished nickel is having a moment and I'm really feelin' it. What are your thoughts?
