Unfortunately, this was not a typical work week. Boston suffered a huge loss during our typically cheerful Boston Marathon. The days since then have been a bit of a blur. There were a few close encounters with loved ones and friends, but everyone I know is safe and sound. Luckily, I wasn't in the area during the bombing, but sadly the same can't be said for the hundreds of injured attendees. As Obama said, "Boston is a tough and resilient town. So are its people." That's why only two days after this tragedy, benefits and fundraisers are popping up everywhere to raise money for the ones directly affected by this. A few friends of mine are throwing a benefit concert where the proceeds will all go to help support those who need it (details to come!), so any money that's donated to Budgeted Bliss within the month of April will be donated to the fundraiser that they choose to help. Please see the link at the bottom of the page to donate! I'll share the fundraiser at the end of the month with all of you. Take a moment tonight and tell the ones you love that they're on your mind - a text, a tweet, even a Facebook message...anything to show you care.
UPDATE: One hundred percent of donations through April on the blog will go to One Fund. To donate to the benefit concert go here. Twelve Chairs is also donating 100% of sales of every Boston poster that sells to One Fund. Everywhere you look, people are trying to help. Every dollar counts. If you want a different way to give back, thank a soldier, a cop, anyone involved in this past week.
