I'm getting married this year! I can't believe 2015 is actually here. In less than 6 months, I'll be saying "I do" alongside my best friend. Pinch me!
Planning is in full force, but luckily most of the "big stuff" is done! We've worked out a budget, set up a timeline, and made a list of details that still need to be completed. It's been over a year since Brandon asked me to marry him, and I feel as though it's been non-stop since then. I'm anxious, nervous, excited, and exhausted - but I want to remember the little moments and fun times that come with being engaged.
I've started a little scrapbook to capture the memories of our engagement, dating history, and wedding plans. There's plenty of room to add photos and details from the big day too! So far I've scrapbooked our Pantone wedding colors, a Save the Date card, engagement photos from our friend Ellie and our photographer Erin McGinn, photos from 2007, and a lovely card from our flower girl! Oh - on that note...YES! Brandon and I decided we wanted to ask his goddaughter to be our flower girl. We've also asked both of my brothers to step up as groomsmen too.
So far, we have a photographer, venue, dress, wedding party, shoes (Valentino shoes), a suit, cake, DJ, color story, bridesmaid dresses, floral ideas, and my antique wedding ring. We're working on Brandon's ring, flower girl dress, final decor ideas, groomsmen attire, bridal shower, and bachelorette ideas. Though it seems like a lot I feel like most of the major things are sorted out. I think we're in good shape to be married in June - haha! Any advice on how to stay sane in the last few months of engagement? I may lose my mind.
In the midst of all this excitement, another opportunity arose - this time for my maid of honor, Sarah. She got accepted into Americorps and will be working hardcore in community service for the next 10 months! As ecstatic as I am for her, I'm so sad to say goodbye next month. This is a time of your life that you always dream about planning alongside your childhood bestfriend. But, there's a light at the end of the tunnel - she'll be able to sneak away from the south for the wedding weekend. Sarah's also been offering up a bunch of her free time before she leaves to help me get some final wedding plans sorted out. I'm so thankful to have her around for little longer, and even more thankful to have my bridesmaid, friends, and family members anxious to help tie up loose ends!
