Collecting inspiration for a wedding can be absurdly overwhelming. There are a million great ideas out there, and you'll probably fall in love with thousands of them, but clearly not all ideas are meant to mix together. Pinterest is great for collecting ideas and inspiration, but I've caught myself pinning so many wedding ideas that don't help create the look I'm trying to achieve.
I'm going for a very casual-woodsy-DIY-vintage-boho vibe. The hardest part in collecting ideas and executing the look is finding a balance between all of the styles and creating a cohesive style. At first, my whole wedding idea felt far too bohemian, and not very "me". After purchasing my dress, I went in a completely vintage/retro style, leading my mood boards to look like a 50's BBQ sock-hop. I think I've finally nailed down my style, color story, and decor guide. Here are some of my tips on how to collect your ideas and keep them organized!

Although I collect all of my ideas on my wedding Pinterest board, I narrow down my favorites and create personal mood boards too. (I use the Pic-Stitch App on my iPhone, but any photo-collage app should work!) Even after looking at the mood board above over and over again, I mentioned to Brandon that I don't think a vintage type-writer feels very fitting for our guest book. He's personally going to make it for us - thankfully he took book binding classes in college. This way, we can make the cover out of a coordinating fabric or leather, and it will have more meaning to us later.
I've collected a lot of vintage, mismatched vases and platters as I came across them, and I'm continuing to pick them up as I find them. They all have a continuous "gold edge" to them. This will keep the look somewhat alike when the big day comes and it ties the vintage pieces into the overall color story. I recommend finding a common thread to tie all your collected pieces together with. It's made deciding what to/to not buy much easier as well!
What ways have you organized your hectic wedding ideas? I'd love to know your thoughts!
