Every time I search for a men's gift guide, I end up coming across the same things: leather wallets, dark knit beanies, beer soap, and wooden everything. I get it, America - men like manly things! But, some also like colorful things that are funny and lighthearted and don't degrade women or mention farts. Since I've been with an artist for over 8 years, I'm used to having to search outside the box for interesting and fun gifts. Though I'm not sure Brandon would choose a cat iPad holder, I do know some man somewhere would appreciate it. So...color-loving men, this one is for you.
1. Urban Outfitters, Love Myself Pin, $10
2. Madewell, Areaware Bottle Opener, $12
3. H&M, Donut Shirt, $24.99
4. Etsy, Cat Stack, $44
5. Harry's, Truman Set, $15
May your holidays look like rainbows and kittens! You do you.
I'm a huge wine fan. I'm not picky though - white wine, red wine, pink wine....I'll drink any of it. If I'm not sure which bottle to buy at the store, I'll typically grab the cutest label in the shop. I'm all about making my bar cart look cute (including the booze on it) so I was excited to and create new wine charms for my cheapo wine glasses. This craft is easy to change up and so simple to do. You only need three supplies to get started!
I love the holidays! One of my favorite parts of winter is cozying up on my sofa listening to music and drinking hot cocoa. I'm kind of a hermit, but it's OK..right? Winter is for bundling up, getting some good old crafts done, and forcing my husband to watch Christmas movies with me. I created this gift guide with exactly that feeling in mind!
1. Ban.do, Back Me Up Charger, $30
2. Urban Outfitters, Cat Headphones, $40
3. Target, Fur Throw Blanket, $24.99
4. J.Crew, Lodge Moccasins, $49.50
5. J.Crew, Skinny Jogger, $49.99
Just mix in your favorite snack, a mug filled with marshmallows (and a little cocoa for good measure), and your favorite Spotify playlist for a wonderful night in. Add these to Santa's wishlist or just treat yo'self.
Our Halloween party was tough to plan this year. Brandon and I struggled coming up with a cohesive theme and costumes that worked for us (I hate wigs. He hates shaving. I had to wear a wig, so he won this one). After much deliberation, we decided on a Bob's Burgers theme. If you're not familiar with the show, it's a cartoon about a middle-class family who owns a burger shop. The show has of great voice-actors, perfect comedic timing, and a punny yet subtle "burger of the day" every episode. Brandon and I went as Bob and Linda Belcher (the dynamic mom and dad duo).
It was a halloween party, so I went full out sweet mode for the snacks. The menu consisted of:

1. my new favorite twins tee from ban.do
2. a shelfie from our kitchen shelf
3. date day with my friend Brittany and some chickens
4. fall decor and cozy sweaters, modeled by the hubby
5. my fabulous ex-coworker on her last day - check out her work here
6. flowers for turkey day
Hope you all have had a fabulous fall and a special Thanksgiving. I've been busy busy with a new promotion, planning events, and visiting my beautiful niece, Sadie Grace. My brother and sister-in-law welcomed her into the world 7 weeks ago and my whole family couldn't be happier! For more day to day happenings, follow me over on Instagram!
When your best-friend is returning home after a 10 month long journey with Americorps, the welcome home party has to be a good! My friend Sarah's mom (Michele) reached out to me with hopes we could successfully throw a surprise welcome home/belated birthday party - one big party to celebrate the last year. The event was a collaborative effort between her friends and family and was perfectly tailored to all things "Sarah"!

There's something so romantic about holding hands in the woods. A year ago yesterday, Erin McGinn snapped these photos of Brandon and I for our engagement shoot. It's such a dreamy session and I'm thrilled to finally get around to sharing some with you. October 30th marks our "engage-iversary" and this year we'll be celebrating it as husband and wife. (We don't actually celebrate it. Though some flowers wouldn't hurt - hint hint!)
I hope you enjoy our woodsy shoot filled with hand holding, kissing, and balancing acts. It's serving as some great fall inspiration for me as I reminisce. XO
This past weekend I was lucky enough to attend the Heart Home Conference hosted by Wayfair. It was a weekend full of insight, tips, ideas, and creativity. I met with local + distant bloggers, entrepreneurs, and creatives that specialized in an assortment of different fields. Though I learned a weekend full of information, I wanted to share some of my new-found knowledge with you.
When my sister-in-law told me she and my brother were expecting a baby this October, I cried like a baby myself. It'll be the first kiddo in my immediate family in over 15 years. Insane! I was smitten to help design and throw her surprise baby shower in August. The theme the soon-to-be Grandmas and myself decided on was, "Oh the Places You'll Go" in pastels and of course - PINK! Though it wasn't a surprise for Ms. Kristin (it's so hard to catch someone off-guard these days) you could tell she was excited about the food, decor, gifts, and guests! Oh well. We tried! The weekend is so close, I can almost taste it! Since Friday's are focused on finishing up your work week and organizing for the weekend adventures, I decided to share some of my current favorite stationery pieces to keep your plans in line. I absolutely love stationery and have an embarrassing amount of paper goods hanging around - I talked about that a bit here - but I can't resist! Find some irresistible pretty papers below:
1. "I am Very Busy" Agenda, $20, Papersource via Ban.do (It's sold out everywhere else!)
This agenda has been my saving grace many times since #nationalbandoagendaday at the end of July. It's adorable, easily organized, fun, and colorful. It keeps me interested enough to actually open it to see what I have on the agenda that week, and I love using the stickers it comes with to really make special events pop. It's a total win!
2. "Beautiful Type" Spiral Notebook, $14, Kate Spade
A newfound irritant of mine is having a notebook without a spiral. Nothing is more annoying than continuously flattening a non-spiral notebook while trying to take notes or jot down ideas. I'm also kind of obsessed with Kate Spade and ampersands ("&"), so this notebook is an absolutely must-have on my list.
3. Watercolor Tags, $12, A Beautiful Mess
Another aspect of having a giant annoying stationery collection is acquiring fabulous gift tags for any occasion. I love these watercolor tags from the A Beautiful Mess Shop because they're vague enough to work for any gift - birthday, housewarming, wedding, "just because". My favorite colorway is the violet and mint!
4. "Violet Floral" Stationery, $22, Rifle Paper Co.
Sometimes you just need that perfect piece of paper to write a special note on. This collection by Rifle Paper Co. is simple and stunning. It adds the perfect amount of professionalism and prettiness to the page for a wide range of notes. Additionally, the set comes with envelopes to mail said notes to whomever you please! Let's bring snail mail back!
5. "I'd Give Anything To Take Off My Bra Right Now" Card, $6, Paper Epiphanies
There are so many events in life that call for a funny card. I love a card that says it like you mean it, and Paper Epiphanies doesn't fail. Did I mention they're letterpress too? Love it! The company was started by a friend of a friend, and it seems they've really taken off in the past year or so. I'm obsessed with her cards and hope to keep a collection growing for everyday use.
