Have you ever played tourist in your own city!? Today that's exactly what I did on my (boy)friend date!!
As you all may know it was my birthday yesterday, and due to some less than desirable weather and a not so fun migraine (most likely from my fear of getting old!!), my man and I decided hey! Why not celebrate my birthday today!
Shane had one last final to do for his semester so what a perfect excuse to hop the train with the handsome fella and head into Boston.

Way back in my hay day of high school, my friends and I would always make it a point to save up our money and take the train to Newbury Street and we always make it a point to stop at the Pour House on Boylston Street to grab a buffalo chicken wrap. Let me tell you, if you're in the area and you're looking for a great place to go this is the perfect place for good cheap food. You can't argue with prices when the most expensive item on the menu is a sampler for $10.50. This is seriously one of my favorite places in the city!!
(I just have to say, the buffalo chicken wrap was everything I remembered it to be! Completely delicious!!!)
Couldn't resist taking a selfie together
I'm ashamed to admit, I lived in Boston when I was a little, my family is all born and raised.. I've visited more times than I could probably count, yet I have never been in the Boston Public Library until today! It's absolutely gorgeous. The amount of history running through the veins of this building is simply amazing and such a hidden gem.
With the hustle and bussle of daily life, it's so easy to overlook and take for granted exactly what is around you. Everyone knows the cliche saying "stop and smell the roses" but actually finding the time to do so is easier said than done. It was such a treat to do so today especially when you have a handsome man by your side to do so!
What's your favorite "tourist" spot in your city?
