The holidays are a time to be thankful for what you have: a great family, awesome friends, loving pets, and in my case - a new fiance as well. I completely get that it's not a time to be selfish, and to want things only for yourself. It's a time to give back to others. But hell - we all know those people will give to you as well, haha.
For the most part, only Brandon and I are exchanging gifts this Christmas. My family decided to do a "Secret Santa" amongst ourselves, and my friends and I typically just gather together for food and drinks. I wanted to share my Christmas List on the blog because I think most of these gift ideas could double as amazing host gifts, presents for family members, creative Secret Santa ideas, and even a treat for yourself.

Number one on my list is this creative little wall pendant (pictured above). It's made my Secret Holiday - an adorable little artisan based right in Northampton, MA. The owner, Ashley Brown Durand, is a lover of all things vintage (much like myself!). On her site she says,"I learned to quilt at a young age, a labor of love that has been passed down by the women in my family for generations. I believe each piece I create is an extension of the first quilt my mother taught me to stitch, and the first that my mother's mother taught her to stitch and so on." I love the idea of passing down tradition through inspirational wall banners that scream quality. This small "Yes" flag is only $40 on her Etsy page.
Next on my list is the Marlowe Lunchbag by husband and wife team, Peg & Awl. This $44 waxed canvas bag is the epitome of my dream lunchbag. I saw it recently in person at a local brick + mortar shop called Olives + Grace (side note - check out this shop if you're ever in Boston. It is the absolute bees knees). It stays closed, it's lightweight, and it seems really durable. Not to mention, it's not too hard on the eyes either. I'm a huge fan of this here guy, and I'm thinking it could save me a few bucks in the long run because I'd happily tote a lunch to work instead of buying out.
I get it - I'm probably the last person on the planet without a BKR bottle. This $28, BPA free, glass bottle has a wide selection of different rubber covers to choose from. It's the perfect stocking stuffer for anyone. The size, weight, color, lack of chemicals (like the ones found in many of the plastic bottles we choose), and the sleek look are all factors on why I want this bottle. Not to mention, the color that is shown is called "Kitten". I mean, it doesn't get much more "Courtney" than that.
If you know me at all, you're probably a bit confused as to why I have number 4 featured here. I live in my Minnetonka moccasins, and yes - these are the same ones I own. The problem is, I've worn them out! Seriously! I just need a replacement. They've lasted me as long as they could, but their job is officially done. Before I retire them indefinitely, I need myself a new pair! If you're looking to buy these as a gift, I recommend sizing down. The soft suede stretches about an entire shoe size. Although the smaller size may seem snug at first, they will inevitably fit within a few hours. These moccasins come in a few different colors, and if you're willing to spend a bit more money, you can get patterns as well. I'm into the classic style, 100%.
Number five on my list is this calendar by Rifle Paper Co. (We carry it at Twelve Chairs too!) It's very fitting as one of my new years resolutions is to stay organized. (The other is to really step up Budgeted Bliss. I've been slacking, I know!) It's mandatory to stay on top of my game with my promotion at work, but it's seemingly necessary to be on my toes outside of work as well. This calendar is just too precious to describe. The illustrations of places throughout America are frame-worthy, and there is even a month for Nantucket! Rifle Paper Co. has always been a favorite of mine, so I'd love to support their business while they help me organize my life. Goodbye mess, hellooooo happiness!
What are some of the things on your Christmas List this year? I'd love to know!
