Going through my mom's old clothes is one of my favorite things. Unfortunately by this point, I think I've already stole all of her clothing left from her twenties. One of the things I've taken from her is this adorable cropped v-neck sweater. Let me rephrase that: the perfect cropped v-neck sweater. It fits a little oversized and it's the perfect length for pairing with high-waisted pieces.
I most recently paired it with this adorable skirt from Madewell (that I mentioned in this post), my Alexander Wang bag, a vintage Levi's denim jacket, and a pair of black shiny oxfords. I even tried milk-maid braids in my hair for the first time!
Oliver wasn't feeling a photo-shoot. What a cutie patootie! (Can't wait 'til we have someone who can help us photograph. We're struggling over here in Budgeted Bliss land!)
Although I have zero idea what my hand is doing, the photo depicts the perfect 90's style: denim and gingham print.
I'm trying my best to slowly transition my wardrobe into more classic, simple, and staple pieces. This sweater is definitely going to stay with me! I've been shopping more at Madewell and American Apparel for everyday wear and layering statement and trendy pieces in from Forever 21 and H&M. I like the idea of investing in pieces that I'll be able to wear for more than one season.
Do you have any hand-me-downs that are go-to's in your wardrobe?
