Brandon and I were approved for a FABULOUS apartment in Providence. I'll still be working in Boston and just changing up my commute a bit. I attached the floor plan so that you ogle at it with us! It has giant 8 foot windows, mill-style living, and comes with stainless steel appliances. Oh, and in the building there is a movie theatre, pool, hot-tub, and gym that we can use. We'll be living in luxury!
Since we'll finally be living in a place that we're proud of, we've been looking into semi-permanent additions to add. One of them is a single pendant light to put over our dining table. We want something industrial and round to center over the table.
Option number one was this guy. An Original BTC Titan Pendant. We couldn't decide between black or white, but after we saw the price tag we decided neither. They range from $469-499 at Design Within Reach which sincerely isn't absurd....just a little out of our price range during the move. We knew this was the style we wanted sooooo we continued our search.
CB2 is definitely typically more modern than industrial, but I think this pendant is a good option. It's called the "Capitol Pendant Lamp" and it's only $299. What makes it a little different from the Original BTC Lamp is that it can only come in black. You have one option for your color and that is it. Another difference is the slight bell shape to it. I absolutely love how it's matte black though - I feel like it's such a versatile piece.
Option number 3 is from Ikea - the Hektar Pendant Lamp. They tried...they really did. I wish I could explain what bothered me so much about this light, but I can't. There's just something about it that I hate. I think it's the wide mouth at the top? Or maybe just how tall it is....Ugh. I don't know. I tried to love it because it's only $30, but I don't love it. Oddly enough, while searching for something so industrial and similar to the Titan, we stumbled upon this. Although it's more modern than we thought we wanted, I think it will look awesome over our table. We have the dining table pictured here. What do you think?
Oh, and here's our floor plan! Although it's a narrow space, I think the addition of the walk in closet should make everything juuuust a bit more manageable.
We love it! So excited to share our setup and budget finds and fix ups.
